The remains of the Echon Tower, a proud tower created during the golden age of cybertron. Holding technology and test subjects, it now resides in the under grid. Increasing the dangers of anyone who stumbles upon the ruins.

Empire descended through the Darkness of the pit and stopped when he reached what was once the roof the Echcon Tower. From what he could tell, the tower was mostly intact, but it was unstable and small fires scattered about were the only source of light. Empire began to patrol what was once to roof while waiting for the others.

Chance began his descent into the abyss that was formerly the foundation level of Echcon Tower wishing he'd had the good sense to take the grapple and cable from Stockpile before they'd left the deranged mech to face his creator.
Hindsight was a wonderful thing, wasn't it?
Scrabbling down to the halfway point, the minibot paused on a narrow ledge to get his bearings and vent a little to cool off. It was tough going. Looking down, he could see Empire stalking around what had evidently been the roof of the building. The engineer in him quickly ascertained that whatever had taken the tower down had obviously happened below decks on the basement level as the superstructure appeared to be ostensibly intact. Was this an 'inside job' then?
From Empire's commentary above ground, Chance was fairly certain the tower's interior would turn out to be an Aladdin's Cave of tech and he couldn't wait to explore. He was very mindful of the covert threat though, the real reason for the 'mission' was to recover research discs and woe betide anyone that pocketed one going on Empire's earlier performance. Locating these would be his priority.
Scanning ahead, the black and white established his path down the steep, rubble-strewn sides of the pit and began the final stage of his descent into the darkness.

Jumping down onto the roof Wraith shifts into his shadow form as he enters the shadows. Landing lightly he scowls as he stomps out a small patch of flames. "I work better in the dark... These flames are too bright, they hinder my abilities, if I can put some of them out I should be okay." Whysp hovers looking around trying to figure out how to strategically put out some of the fires to enhance her partner's strength without restricting to vision of the others too greatly. "We don't want to leave the others in the dark Wraith, if it becomes necessary we can rapidly extinguish the fires but for now they should be left to glow."

V was the last of the group to begin his decent into Echcon. Slowly, he began to climb down the side of the pit into the darkness
Seeing that the others were following him, Empire transformed and approached then. “The computers that held V’s research are on the lower floors of the tower, so all we have to do is- what’s that noise?” A metallic clicking had begun to echo from within the tower and was steadily becoming louder. Suddenly, one of the cleaning drones scurried out and began to swiftly run around Whysp.
Empire chuckled and shook his head. “Good it was only one of the drones. They were designed to keep the tower up and running and adapt to advisements in technology so that they could never become obsolete. On top of that, they are self-replicating and are able to live off of the towers generators. Since there seems to be one the survived the disaster, I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole tower is full of them working hard to rebuild the tower. In a month or two, it could be as good as new, well, except for being in the undergrid.”
Empire walked over to the drone to pick it up, but as soon as he touched it, the drone transformed into a small turret and began to open fire. Startled, Empire quickly crushed the drone with his foot before it could harm anyone. “They weren’t programed to do that.” Empire muttered in astonishment. “What is going on here?” Before any of his companions could respond, a swarm of 20 more drones came from the doorway and scuttled toward the group.

Whysp watches as the drone runs around her and draws her blade in quick reflex as it transforms and begins to fire. As soon as more of them appear she prepares for the attack. Wraith doesn't wait to be fired at, he darts forward towards the drones claws ready to tear through them. Rushing towards them his claws rip through three of them at once. "If it weren't so bright down here I could have ripped through another five of them by now..." He flies up out of their way. "Anyway there's another 1, 2, 3, 4, 5..." *mumbled counting* "...16, 17 more."

"Ah, scrappit!"[/color] having just set foot on the tower superstructure, Chance quickly scurried backward as the swarm of drones emerged and came after the group. Pistols drawn and doorwings raised, the minibot was quick with the first salvo, levelling off a few volleys of acid pellets to fend the creatures nearest to him off.
The acid hissed and steamed as the pellets ruptured, coating the floor immediately in front of the drones with a slick of the highly corrosive chemical. Anyone or anything foolish enough to touch it would be in very serious trouble indeed within a few nanoklicks of contact.

“Whhaaah!” V screamed as he lost his grip and fell onto the roof of Echcon. Looking around, V’s eyes grew wide at the sight of the swarm of drones. Without any hesitation, V pulled out his EMP cannon and fired it at the door way that the drones were coming out of. All of the drones that were caught in the blast instantly froze and after a few more blasts, the doorway had been barricaded by motionless drones. As the rest of the group dealt with the remaining drones, Empire shut the door and used some of the rubble to block it. “V, what is going on? Those drones were made to keep the tower functional, so why did they attack us and suddenly have the ability to turn into turrets?”
V picked up one of the damaged drones and used his finger blade to dissect it as he spoke. “I wasn’t the only who made those drones, you gave that job to Void, but I did look over their blueprints. The drones were made to repaired the tower and adapt to changes in technology, so it is possible that the drones are only adapting to their new home. The destruction of the tower and its relocation to the undergrid might have caused them to become more hostile, but that still leaves a few questions. I don’t get why the drones haven put out the fires up here or got the generations running again. That should have been their 1st priority.”
Suddenly, lights began to flicker along the edge of the roof and the inside of the tower also began to light up illuminating the area around the tower. V turned to Empire and frowned. “I don’t like this. The computers are on the 1st floor; it also has the emergency shut off switch that will deactivate all the drones. So anyone have a plan?”

"I don't know a thing about the building but I'm tempted to just go down there and take care of it all myself." Wraith picks up one of the last drones and drains it finishing it off by crushing it in his claws. "I'm starving and unless I can find a bigger and stronger living thing to drain one of you two will be next." He glares at Empire and V. Whysp places a hand on Wraith's arm. "Calm down you'll get your fill." She turns to Empire and V. "What ways are there to enter that won't be swarming with drones?"

V folded his arms and frowned. “The drones were made to maintain the entire tower, so there isn’t an area that they were not allowed access to. Even Empire’s office had at least 10 of them.” V began to walk around the roof until finally he stopped and took a deep breath. “The best plan I can come up with is I fire an EMP blast through the doorway and one of us runs in and flips the deactivation switch right behind the front desk. With a fully charged blast, I should be able to make a clear path. Ok, I’ll start charging my cannon while we climb down, but we should only send a 2 man team down in case we fail, so that the rest of us can make a new plan. Whoever wants to make a run for it, come with me, everyone else stay up hear and keep more drones from getting out” V then jumped back on to the walls of the pit and began his decent to the lowest level.
