Name: Cogs (Patch)
Allegiance: Cons
Function: Data miner
Alt. mode: Small Cybertronian cargo shuttle
Weapons: His main strengths are his endurance and his inquisitive mind. He wields an energon axe that is both effective and very energy costly, with it's power depleted it remains simply a cutting tool he might hit someone over the cranium with at best.. He also has a surgical laser scalpel souped up to be usable at decent range and a soldering iron. Not overly impressive but he is very handy with them.
Special Abilities: He also has the unusual ability is to temporarily create compulsions in the minds of other bots. He mainly uses this in a defensive fashion, using his targets state of confusion to get away rather than assault. He can coerce them to other actions as well but their own sense of self preservation remains stronger than even his most powerful compulsion.
Height: 20 ft and change.
Quote: “Knowledge is the ultimate reward.”
Strength: 5
Intelligence: 9
Dexterity: 5
Speed: 6
Endurance: 8
Courage: 6
Firepower: 5
Accuracy: 5
Melee: 5
Tech Skill: 7
Charisma: 9
Rank: 5
Profile: Cogs is a bot barely above 20 feet tall. His basic frame is gunmetal gray but he has multiple colored parts, obviously added at a later date and never repainted. It has earned him the nickname “Patch”. However he refuses to alter his designation and apparently ignores the nick. His alt mode is a small triangular Cybertronian cargo aircraft with a round dome.
Cogs is a member of the original rebel alliance of Kaon. Self taught, he considers himself a survivor. Designed as a small Cybertronian cargo shuttle to hold supplies and tools, he has grown into a tinkered together but fully sparked bot. Small but heavily armored, he bears little resemblance to his original design. He believes in right through strength, and defines strength as anyone with the spark to survive.
He feels the weaker party should be made to submit and then put on a heavy work schedule, integrated, and nurtured. He believes in eventual unity and equality when all have been sufficiently educated (and re-educated) and upgraded. He resents Iacon as he feels Iacon is corrupt. He also feels Primes get power thrust at them along with the fabled Matrix, the ultimate upgrade, chosen out of political favor rather than worthiness. From field medics to arena gladiators, he admires resilience and skill above all else. He believes the weak should be ruled in an almost paternalistic way. Nurtured through tight control and forced to grow, expand and upgrade. He feels it is his duty to do the same. As such he has an interest in all that was previously unavailable to him. From medicine to weapons technology. While quite intelligent, and able to gather data, his acquisition of knowledge is hampered by his inability to read beyond basic binary code, and so the data obtained remains frustratingly unusable to himself. All this he keeps carefully hidden through listening to Datapad on Audio, or charming other bots to read for him and then compel them to forget doing it. He keeps a hidden stash of the most basic data pads available attempting to remedy his shortcoming. He dreams of going to a library with the ability to soak up all that knowledge. He feels on that day he will be complete. Lastly he has a love for small single purpose drones that he creates that posses no real spark of their own. He is happiest in his little alcove working on his latest projects surrounded by his whirring and buzzing little creations with a science broadcast on speaker in the background.
Weaknesses: Obviously his ability for control can seriously backfire used offensively, when his control is severed because he over reaches, and he finds himself suddenly facing two enemies instead of one..
His ability to compel minds can make a bad situation a whole lot more dangerous when the compulsion is broken. He also gets irrationally angry when someone damages or destroys his creations, causing him to go on the offensive in a flash of rage.. not his strong suit.
While he will fight back he is unlikely to actually terminate an enemy though he might steal a less vital part for one of his creations, and will become quite docile when overpowered. Between that and his short stature his fellow 'cons tend to treat him a bit like a little brother, rather than a fully autonomous being. He keeps his irritation under wraps as he recognizes their currently superior strength but occasionally allows himself to day dream about the day when the roles are reversed.. He is also susceptible to propaganda and advertisements. He worries the failing of those colored polymer lenses, supposed to bestow enhanced spectrum vision to his optics according to the ad, might be due to his own inability to use the items..
