“I guess you could argue that I’m a housekeeper. Kalis is my house now, and Cybertron is my home. I just do what I can to keep it together….[laughs] You know, some people just see me as some kind of girl fretting over politics. But when I look in the mirror…I see a woman...a woman concerned about her home….”
- Iris Prime, 2 years before the Second Cybertronian War
IRIS DEMI-PRIME
Common knowledge is that Optimus was the last of the primes. He was preceded by a few notable others, such as Sentinel, A3, and the infamous Zeta Prime. However, historians note that though the lineage of primes came to a close at the beginning of the Great War, there was still one connection—one distant link that related a young femme to the energon-line. This young femme…was Iris Demi-Prime.
History
Only one thing completely defines a prime. The ability to hold the matrix of leadership. Primes have used this spectacular device to lead armies into battle for an eternity. In the ages of old, the forerunners of all primes, the Thirteen, prepared for one of the most fearful events of all. The attack of Unicron. The Thirteen feared that he would attack when they were they were weak. Naturally, they began to fear of what would happen if they were all wiped out, and the lineage was discontinued—rendering all future civilization into inevitable chaos. 3 notable characters, Alpha Trion, Prima, and Solus Prime, worked together to put forth means of salvation for their species. It would be settled that each would contribute one thing to be reviewed by their peers: Alpha Trion, the great engineer and archivist, put forth the means of protecting Vector Sigma and the Cube. Prima created the Guardians, sole protectors of the Galaxy, and Solus Prime was in charge of creating a means of containing the Prime lineage whenever it was in danger of collapsing.
Solus herself was the only female prime, and received a lot of flak about her gender and opinions. She vowed to keep the lineage going…but through her. And she would choose a female at that, no doubt. Solus became involved with another cybertronian behind the backs of the other primes, a male warrior that wasn’t a prime at all. His name was forgotten, and history suggests that Solus got rid of him after becoming impregnated, to save her reputation and keep slander to a minimum. Before her child could germinate into youngling form, she set it into stasis and left it in the care of a special order, the remainder of the Covenant, telling them to keep it safe until the time was right. The order did just that, until they began to die off. Descendants of the order brought it to present day Kalis, now an Autobot Resistance camp. A thousand or so years before the Great War, the youngling was born. She had the energon of a prime, but it was mixed with that of a normal cybertronian. Iris Demi-Prime was born.
Personality
Iris is head strong and as independent as her mother. She never thinks twice about her decisions and strives to make the right choices. She is a debater, an activist, and a warrior. She is a born fighter, and pushes herself to ignore anything labeled as a “weakness”. Iris is highly competitive and considerably aggressive, and will be second to no one. She has few close friends, but none can surpass her loyalty and love for those who matter to her. She is very passionate and emotional, though it is hard for her to connect with others. Her competitiveness makes it hard for her to make connections and her independence is often bothersome in the eyes of allies. Iris is a victim of minor female discrimination, and her very life force is to prove that she is just as capable as “the boys”. Training in Kalis, she scored top overall in her class. Iris is also very self-conscious about her origins. She knows she is part prime, but is ashamed of only being “part”. Often, this aspect has held her back psychologically. The term Demi-Prime, doesn’t bother her usually—only when it is being used as a derogatory term, however, will it upset her.
Skills
There is nothing Iris can’t do. This is so because she purposely finds things she is incapable of, and learns to do them. She has trained for nearly 7 centuries to do one thing. Kill. Kalis calls it defensive training, But Iris was always fascinated in the art of takedowns and the fastest way to slaughter her enemies. She is light on her feet and a ferocious fighter, transferring her aggression into every blow. Her status as a prime was a factor in her natural boost through training levels, and after graduation she had chosen her primary style and weapon preference.
Iris favors the hammer and shield. Her mastery of the two has unified the objects, and she uses them as one fantastic weapon. One could argue that she does more damage with the shield half of the combo, but her bone shattering maul type hammer can leave enemies in a world of hurt. The name of her hammer is Sol, after her mother. It is directly crafted from the pure metal work of Solus’s Hammer and turned into a deadly weapon like no other. Iris is also an excellent marksman and favors precision weapons over cannons and launchers. She is very handy with a sniper rifle, often compared to Sharp, the Guardian of Accuracy, though not quite as skilled.
Physical Description
The young Demi-Prime is hard to miss and has a figure of authority that is difficult to ignore. She is exquisitely beautiful, with a thin waist and long, powerful legs. Her face has a look of brilliant determination, with a well-established chin and respectable cheek plates. Her eyes are electrifyingly attractive, and adopt a wild, blue green color that—though hard to stare into, are equally as challenging to pull away from. Her armor is a silky metallic green, one that teases the borders of blue ever so slightly. It is the most highly advanced set of armor available, set with the max with status updates, heating and cooling, regeneration, and shielding film. The armor is funded by the High Council, and the Guardians. Her helmet retracts and contracts from four different locations, forming a sealed, safe cocoon around her head whenever fighting. It is the most impervious to damage compared to the read of the armor. She is as strong bodied as much as she is strong willed, and will exert herself to her fullest potential.
Worldliness
Iris has never stepped outside of Kalis.
This may seem as a tremendous problem, but she was restricted from leaving the safe area in order to limit the chances of her death. With Iris and Optimus gone, the Prime lineage would truly be lost, and so would be the hope of peace and salvation. She has practiced on test drones and dummies for years, even to go as far as participate in fight against raiding pirates. She has aced fight simulations and flight simulations as well. She is prepared, but has yet to endure the firsthand reality of the Great War. As a result of this containment, she has experienced resentment, but only when she realizes the true horrors of war will she begin to appreciate what she had. She has also never been involved romantically with someone, and has no experience of what it is to love whatsoever.
Weaknesses
Iris Prime is as prepared as anyone could possibly without going into war, but she still lacks the firsthand experience. She is headstrong and stubborn, and often that can lead to pushing people away rather than gain respect for her, due to her natural need for proving herself. She can become very stressed and that can lead to minor anxiety attacks. Naturally, her defensiveness and self-consciousness may lead her to make some bad decisions. She is, again, not completely ‘Prime’, so she may be lacking or slow to learn some abilities that come natural to those of the lineage.
