Below the surface lies a secret and ancient vault that few alive know of. Its contents are a mystery as is the nature of the vault itself.

Most would think that the insides of the vault were dirty, dank, and foul. They would expect to see mold on the walls and stagnant liquid scooting across the floors. The stench of the ancient and deceased mixing with the strong odor of time's decay...but nay. Nay, this was a miniature world of mystery and lore. Computers ran the walls and fine armor glistened amongst the racks--complimenting the massive skylight that plummeted into the depths. Soldiers dressed in high grade shield armour stood at attention as the blue luminescent danced off their shoulders. Scientists could be heard typing away at computers and experimenting with AllSparkian Energy. Communication between contacts and corrupted Political figures around the world buzzed throughout the understudies. The only empty chair was a throne. This was not only the Iota Vault. This was the Thetabase. Home to the original Thetacons...and center of the entire Thetacon network.
A system that was universal.
Suddenly, the soldiers broke their iron posture, kneeling with humble souls and crossing an honorable arm across their sparks. A figure of authority stepped through their ranks, approaching the throne. His crimson cape scraped the surface, temporarily covering part of the great Thetacon seal, and the skylight that entered it. As the noble passed, the soldiers stood one by one, returning to their posts and staring onward. The great one sat in his chair, directing his gaze to his subjects, and with one groundshaking movement, gestured for his newsbearers to come forth.
The first was a young woman.
"Oh, Enlightened One, I seek to converse with you in terms of commerce."
The noble waved his hand in mild interest. "You may proceed."
She prostrated, demonstrating the tattoos painted on her back, and the collar hidden by her braided cord hair. "Our contacts in Iacon have bribed the Constructicons as you've asked. Progress will be progressively delayed 2 meta-cycles. That is all, your Eminence."
He dismissed her. "The Gods thank you, as do I, child."
An older male stepped in, bowing and sobbing into the floor.
"Oh Chosen One, I wish to converse with you in terms of politics!"
"Proceed." The great one almost yawned.
The old bot rose, but remained on his knees. "The coup in Helex has failed! Our people have been slaughtered! Senator Dart has betrayed us!"
"Give the order to assassinate."
"I shall advise our associates to take care of the Senator."
"Not the Senator. Why would I want to kill the Senator? I could care less about that bumbling fool. I'm talking about his family. His friends. Take everything from him. And when, and only when, he sees the true power of Theta, is he allowed to die."
"Oh, you are so brilliant, Enlightened One! I shall do as you ask! Do I leave with your blessing?"
"With mine and all of the Gods. Thank you."
As the old man left, one rushed in, standing on the seal and shouting.
"Valk! Supreme one!"
Everyone grew uneasy. This wasn't the way to talk to the Enlightened One. No one called him by his actual name, Valk. Yet Valk humored him. It would be amusing.
"Yeah? What's up?"
The soldier was confused. "Um...sir?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. I was just trying to relate with you. I don't know anyplace where people run in the presence of their Supreme leader and accost him, shouting at him like a cur in the streets!"
"...I'm so sorry..." The soldier began to fall to his knees.
"Wait." Valk lifted his arm, somehow stopping the soldier from moving. The poor boy struggled as the force closed in on him. "Don't bother. I wouldn't want to inconvenience you. Now, you were saying something?"
The soldier choked on his own fear. "The--The v---ggaaaaaaghhh!"
Valk was slowly squeezing him to death, pinching back his shoulders and crushing his spine with the ungodly force. "No I'm listening, seriously. You'll just have to excuse my exercise. It doesn't bother you, right? While you're talking? I wouldn't want to be disrespectful, you know."
"AAAaaagh..I can't...Guhhh" The soldier's body collapsed inward, sending spurts of energon in all directions. His spark imploded and his eyes burst from his skull. His blood curdling scream was enough to chill the innards of the toughest cybertronians. Valk waved his hand again, harshly, and the bloody violently ripped upwards and flew down the hall, tearing apart as it went.
The room was silent. All avoided the dangerous gaze of their insane leader. They could hear his foreboding descent from his throne, however, and could feel the heat of his eyes on them.
Suddenly the skylight became an interactive projection. Holographic lights fluttered from seams in the walls, and fashioned a cylindrical screen 50 feet high, complete with blinking lights in respective sectors.
Valk grinned. "Hahaha! Exciting news, Diagon the Exalted has awoken! And we have two new sacrificial volunteers..."
And so began the hunt.
