Posting and You
As a forum-based RPG every action and reaction is comprised with a series of posts made by our community. The shape the RPG in ways that only we can dream of, entertaining us for months on end! To keep the RPG fun for everyone, please read the following and post accordingly.
Please type legibly and use proper sentences. Include as much detail in every post as you can conjure and try to minimize the amount of oneliners and single sentence posts. The more detail you include, the easier it is to understand and the more clear a picture it generates for those reading it. A well written post can easily inspire the other to create equal works or even better still. So flex those brain muscles to the maximum when your posting!
Don't double post. You are permitted to edit your post if you need to make a correction or if you wish to add something that you may have forgotten or spontaneously thought of real quick. This is more then acceptable as long as you are not posting twice in succession. The second post will be ignored and deleted by our Moderators.
Give everyone a chance to post. Just because some else has posted, it doesn't give you the green light to make your post. When you post in this manner, the RPG accelerates to quickly and forces roleplayers to react to multiple situations at once. This can be both tedious and frustrating in many ways, especially when your merely trying to accomplish a simple task.
Don't assume your character knows everything. Even if you know it yourself, that doesn't mean that your character is aware of the events transpiring around him. Unless the character is an integral part of the story's current chapter, or the character has had the information revealed to him somehow, then the character is unaware.
Similar methods should be utilized in relations to other characters enrolled in the RPG. Once again, just because you know, doesn't mean your character knows. Assume all positions of other characters are completely unknown unless they have informed your character, your character has made contact with the other character, or the character is in the same location and in open view of yours.
Combat: Good vs. Evil
In the Transformers RPG we love action and lots of it. When starting a fight with someone else, we follow some basic rules of thumb to prevent a fight from becoming dull and stale. Try to be mindful to the person you are battling against. Express all of the usual courtesies you would extend any other roleplayer.
Most importantly, do not auto-hit them. This is something then can be very frustrating for other roleplayers and making the fight extremely boring for everyone, except for maybe yourself. When you attack someone, leave the attack open ended, leaving your enemy a chance to defend themselves.
Likewise, auto-avoiding is something else to take to mind. You cannot avoid every single attack another roleplayer throws at you and must eventually take a hit. Characters are not invulnerable either. They cannot absorb every blow they take and must feel damages like any other. Remember, your not the only factor to consider in the battle.
Don't rush into things. Follow the standard suggested cycle of posting, giving all active roleplayers (especially those involved in the fight) the chance to react instead of sneaking in a quick attack attempt between every post. Of course this would get expceptionally interesting should you be outnumbered two-to-one, creating a genuine feeling of being at a disadvantage.
It's also important not to go all out right away in every battle sequence. Let the excitement build. It's much more entertaining and has a much greater effect when it's meaningful instead of senseless. For example, your character's super attack sudden has no presence when he uses it in every post you make. This is something best to avoid in combat.
Avoid mindless destruction. Yes, it's probably fun to destroy everything that stands in your character's way and conquer every world that the character sets foot on. This is something you should try to stay away from. It has a tendancy to dampen the experience for others. Once and a while is okay, just try not to do this on a regular basis. Take to mind that it is strictly forbidden for you to destroy or conquer bases of operation, outposts, interstaller vehicles or planets such as Earth or Cybertron that are consider part of the story's core. Especially if they belong to another roleplayer.
That said go and flex your creative muscles and describe every detail of your offensive and defensive maneuvers. Work with your opponent to create an enjoyable experience not only for you and your opponent, by the rest of the audience reading as well.
Character Creation
The very heart of every character falls on just one word: unique. Ask yourself, where is my character's place in this story? Will they have a purpose in the story? Are they good or evil? Autobot or Decepticon? How is my character any different from someone else's? If you can easily answer those questions then your already on the right road. Use the following guidelines when creating your character:
The most logical place to start is with a name. What is your character called? A name could reflect a great number of things about the character. It could have something to do with thier function, perhaps thier personality or maybe thier existance. Please do not recycle names from canon characters in the Transformers franchise and give them a unique name deserving of the character.
All characters have those attributes that they excel at, and those they faulter with. Strengths and weaknesses help to define what they are and what they are not. Be as creative as you can here but remember to keep a few important things at mind. No character is a jack-of-all trades. You cannot be the master of everything. And everyone has a weakness, something about them they could be the difference that makes or breaks them in any situation.
Personality is something that helps give your character color is and is a core element of creation. What are his or her motivations? Why have they made the choices they make? What interesting quirks to they have? Giving your character a unique personality will make them a character to remember, having thier mark permantantly engraved Generation after Generation.
Visual appearance is something that can also set a character apart from the rest so be sure to to give them a look that is astheticly genuine. This is a task that may prove difficult as you must describe something we would see with words. A challenging task that is the very backbone of the RPG.
Physical characteristics like mass, height and weight all help tell us something about your character. Is he fast and agile? Strong and tough? Dedicated and intelligent? Charasmatic perhaps? Be sure to include all the little details to really flesh them out I'm sure your writing skills will not disappoint!
As a rule of thumb, please keep in mind character relations when building your character's physical appearance and it's suggested that no Cybertronian have a height greater then 50 feet. And that limit should be reserved for extreme cases. Remember, Optimus Prime is somewhere around 28 feet tall and he is considered one of the larger Transformers.
A common tradition in our RPG in the use of character colors to help distinguish one character from another in a particular post. The option to give your character a color is a choice that solely belongs to you. When selecting your character's color, there's few notes that you should take to mind.
Make sure you select a color that can be easily read by the other roleplayers. Colors too dark or too close to the forum's background color will make the posts will be difficult to read and may discourage others from reading your posts.Be courteous to others and try to select a color that is unique. Even though a post is made by a different user, it's possible for a roleplayer to confused and mistake your character for another.
If you do choose to use character colors, then you must always use them. You cannot have colors in one post, then none in the next. This is another factor that may cause roleplayers to become lost and confused. If you are posting from an alternate device where the color palette is unavailable, then utilize the BB code and enter the hexidecimal value manually.
Please be advised that there are creation limitations enforced by the Moderators as far as maximum number of characters any one user may have. The reason is to prevent the RPG from being flooded with characters and thus making it difficult to comprehend what's exactly going on. This limit is 3 characters, but it can be extended depending on if the Moderators feel you are suited to the task.
Special Abilities
Every character can possess one and only one. The list below provides some examples of special abilities.
• Shield Generator
• Teleportation (A good explanation why your character should have this ability is required.)
• Robot mode flight ability -> (Decepticons have this ability innately)
• Cloaking Device/Invisibility
• Weapons we determine to be more than typical
• Radar/Sonar ( All transformers have a limited radar. This is about long range ones.)
• Above average sensory, includes audio, visual, touch, smell
• EMP weapons

• Ability to create multiple holograms or large scale holograms (á la Hound)
• Being able to reach the escape velocity from Earth's gravity field
• Low fuel consumption á la Bumblebee
Speed Charts
Decepticon flying ability in robot mode allow approximately speeds from 100 mph to 300 mph depending on their design with the seekers being even able to reach speed of sound in robot mode. This robot mode flight however, is not the stat to be given for the speed indicates your character's alt.mode speed.

10 - Character is fast enough to reach escape velocity and can travel in space with extremely high speeds

Rank can add or subtract stat points from the average of 70. If you think this is unfair, please note that while holding a higher rank has its responsibilities, it also has its privileges. The ranks and point totals are as follows:
0 - Neutral (70)
1 - Civilian (62)
2 - In-Training (64)
3 - Recruit (66)
4 - Private (68)

How to Rank Up
From a decepticon point of view
Characters might also find themselves contending for recognition or the same position. Each Decepticon wishes to advance in the ranks and improve themselves and the team. The only way to accomplish this is to prove you're the best Con for the job. However this is competition between teammates and NOT backstabbing or treason. Players are free to RP out this competition, provided it's consensual and doesn't go too far. Players should keep in mind the overall goal is the advancement of the team. Yes, one character could let the Autobots gain a major victory and blame it on one of his fellow Decepticons. But that would mean harming the team as a whole, and personal ambition doesn't justify that.
All Actions Have Consequences
Examples of what actions by your character may cause: (which is why some thought should be put to what you are doing before acting)
• Insulting someone more powerful than you may result in painful beating, even death in some cases especially if these actions are repeative. Some Decepticons, especially the more higher ranking ones do not shy away from teaching respect by pain and fear if they think someone of lower rank is acting out of line.
• Infiltrating enemy base or/and staying in a fight to the end of your endurance may lead in capture and interrogation, perhaps even execution. Such actions are not recommended. Sometimes infiltration missions can take place but they are carefully pre-planned and checked through the RPG moderators.
• Disobeying orders, creating problems for your faction will propably cause some of following consequences: Demotion. A stay in the brig. A stay in prison colony. Being kicked out of faction. Defection by comrades and superiors. Perhaps even execution or getting hunted down and killed as an example.
• Going insane may lead to following consequences: Being mindwiped, being reprogrammed, being brigged, being packed off to a mental institution, in some cases even execution.
